Getting to know Ms. EvansMy name is Miss Evans, and I am thrilled to have you in my classroom for third grade. I hope that you are as excited to learn as many new things this year as I am. I know going into a new grade can always be a scary thing, but if you are willing to give it your all, this year will be a year full of exciting adventures.
I was born and raised here in Independence, Missouri. Growing up I had the opportunity to attend Ott Elementary. After graduating from William Chrisman High school, I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Westminster College. This year will be my second year of teaching at Mill Creek. I hope to see your smiling face every day, prepared and ready to learn. I absolutely love school, and can only hope to pass my passion for learning on to you! You will be spending a lot of time interacting with other students in our classroom, and around the building. This means that it is essential that you are always modeling rope (respectful), saddle (safe), and ride (responsible), to help provide a comfortable environment for all. I believe that it is important to have a close working relationship with families. Whenever possible I would hope your family can be involved in your learning, and I will do my best to keep your family informed on your progress.
HobbiesI am a very energetic and creative person. I love doing anything outdoors, especially if it involves my camera. Photography is my favorite artistic thing to do, but really I love anything involving creativity. I recently taught myself how to quilt. It is always so rewarding for me to see the finished product of something that I worked so hard on.
